A Time for Hating

A Poem by Prudence Lloyd Allen , 1959

Forgive and forgive and forgive...............
Its going to take a lot of concentrated hating
To make this world any good.
You've got to know who your enemies are,
and you've got to HATE them.
You've got to HATE them right out of existence.
You've got to HATE them so hard
You don't even care if you get killed doing it.
These are your enemies:
Stupidity, blindness, and boredom,
Hopelessness, resourcelessness,
Crying and pity;
Idleness, greed, fear,
Laziness, and intimidation;
Possessiveness, jealousy, gossip,
Arrogance, and doubt.
